Orlando Airport Parking: Where to Leave Your Car When Travelling

No Comments 21 September 2010

IF you’ll be needing to park at the Orlando airport due to business or family vacations, you’ll be happy to hear there are now increased options to do this. Orlando airport vicinity driving can be very hectic and congested, so remember to leave yourself plenty of travel time due to Murphy’s law. Let’s start with parking at the airport itself in Orlando.

Satellite Parking

Satellite Parking costshas both a 3 hour rate as well as a daily rateYou can park in the satellite parking for any length of time up to 120 days and no longer. They also provide you with a 10 minute grace period so that if you exit a satellite parking lot within 10 minutes of entering you do not pay any charges but after those 10 minutes the normal rates will apply.

With the satellite parking Orlando International Airport offers customers a free shuttle service which operates every 10 minutes between the lots and the main airport terminal. Those that are leaving Orlando will be dropped at the Departures Level (3) on both sides of the terminal (A and B) and therefore it is vital that you include an extra 30 minutes in to your travel and check in time when using the Satellite Parking. Although the satellite parking lots are uncovered they are fenced in and are routinely patrolled by members of the Airport Division of the Orlando Police Department.

There are three satellite parking lots at Orlando International Airport. The Blue Lot is situated on the Cargo Road about 1 mile north of the terminal building whilst the Red Lot is located on the South Approach Road about 1 mile south of the terminal building. There is also a Gold Satellite Parking lot which will be used when both the Blue and Red lots have reached their full capacity and is located 2 miles west of the Blue Lot. However an important point to remember is that vehicles over 20 feet long can not be accommodated in the satellite parking lots.

The shuttle service that is provided for satellite parking also has handicapped access available but to ensure that there is availability it is wise to many arrangements you need for handicapped access in advance. Airport Intl Orlando thinks of everyone.

Terminal Garage Parking

You can only use the terminal garage parking for a maximum of 60 days. But with this parking you have a grace period of 40 minutes and so should you exit the garage within 40 minutes of entering then no charges will be incurred by after those 40 minutes the normal garage rates will apply as from the time when you entered.

This area offers parking for 9,300 private vehicles and most of the spaces provided are under cover and all are within easy walking distance of the main terminal and again is routinely patrolled by the Airport Division of the Orlando Police Department. Unfortunately people who vehicles are over 7′0″ in height will not be accommodated in this parking area.

The airport Orlando parking that we have provided what’s available at the airport but keep in mind you can get nice bargains as well at nearby centers that allow people to leave their cars when they travel. Often you can even get a cup of coffee and newspaper there too! A number of places add drop off and parking services to boost income and these include hotels, car rental services and local businesses hurt by the economy. Here’s two to look into:

1) Sunshine Rent a Car is one and a half miles from the airport and 6.50 a day. Their location is 3719 McCoy Road. They will shuttle you to the airport and pick you up.

Airport Parking – The Hotel Alternative

No Comments 01 September 2010

If you are someone who usually parks their car at the hotel car parking, you should know that there is a better alternative available to you. The alternative is parking in the airport parking instead of parking far away.

You can pre-book the parking by going online and confirming and paying for it via the internet. All you need to do is print out your parking ticket when you come to the airport. If you are able to find a cheaper airport parking, you will either get a refund or the price will be matched. You can even book your parking spot on the day of travel.

You can even find parking spots in parking lots near the airport, and they are cheaper than the ones at the airport and are just as convenient. Sometimes these can be up to fifty percent cheaper. There is no need to worry that you will have to get yourself from the terminal to the parking lot, since there is also the option of getting a transfer bus from the terminal to the parking facility.

In the UK, the best parking areas are at the big airports like Heathrow and Gatwick. All of these offer many services, including security. Most of these airports have secured parking areas which have a round the clock security team as well as fences to protect the cars from theft. They also have cameras monitoring the entire area.

Another great thing about Airport parking is that everything is organized through technology. Instead of having to rely on manual counting to figure out how many spaces are available and when new ones will be opening up, the computer will now calculate all this in a blink of an eye, and thus always make sure the parking lot is utilized in the best possible way.

An additional advantage that most UK airports offer is valet services for your parking. You can have your car parked when you arrive by an airport valet, and when you come back that car will be brought to you at the gate. This give you two advantages, one-it reduces the hassle you have to go through to find parking, secondly-it enables the airport valets to best optimize the space in the car park and safely return you your car.

Airport parking is also convenient as you have the luxury of having your bags dropped off and picked up from the terminal gates instead of having to lug them through various transfer buses to any other parking lot. This is especially useful if you have kids or older people with you who cannot walk that much.

Airport parking is thus a better alternative when it comes to parking your car while you are out of the country or city. It offers many benefits over hotel parking such as valet parking, security, convenience, and ease of use, and not to mention the ability to book the parking spot online prior to your arrival. Therefore, if you are someone who usually parks in the hotel but is looking for an alternative, then the airport is one great option for you.

Gatwick Airport Parking – Cut The Stress By Parking Near Gatwick

No Comments 04 August 2010

Gatwick Airport parking not only boasts over a dozen car parks, but offers a wide range of parking facilities to help improve the overall experience of departing or arriving at one of the busiest airports in the country. Flying can be stressful at the best of times, and you cut the stress by parking near Gatwick, or at the airport itself.
In total the traveler choosing to fly from Gatwick has a choice of over thirty different parking facilities, and these provide a range of solutions to fit particular needs, preferences and pockets. The first option, and the one which will need least preparation or planning, is parking your car at the airport with no prior booking arrangement in place. This is referred to as either the airport drive on price of airport gate price, and will be rather expensive compared to the wide range of bookable facilities which could be arranged before you even leave home or the office.
With airports, including Gatwick, continually expanding, the available land for providing parking near Gatwick is becoming increasingly under pressure, and with space a premium, prices have risen to reflect this. As far as general Gatwick Airport parking provision is concerned, you have a choice between three main facilities: off-airport parking, on-airport parking and a ‘Meet and Greet’ service.
The off-airport services, which include APH Gatwick, Courtlands and Cophall Farm, are secure compound areas which provide a level of security that is significantly higher than those found within the airport itself. Typically you will be asked to leave your keys at reception, and your car will then be parked for you. This provides peace of mind in terms of security and convenience, but with a greater distance to the airport itself, this may be less convenient if you have a large amount of luggage.
On-airport parking includes the Summer Special facility, NCP Flightpath and Parking Express South. These facilities are quite large, and when you arrive you will be given a designated area in which to park. It is wise to make a note of this area in order to help locate the car at the end of your trip. You will need to park your car yourself, and then use a transfer coach to the airport terminal itself. A good tip is to drop off family and luggage at one of these bus stops, and to then park the car.
The Meet and Greet services available take parking your car at Gatwick Airport to a new level of comfort, convenience and peace of mind. These services reflect a growing demand amongst both business passengers and holidaymakers for a service which delivers maximum convenience.
The Meteor Meet and Greet and Cophall Farm are just two examples of this service, and in all cases you will simply need to drive straight to the terminal, and hand the keys over to a driver who will park your car for you. At the end of the trip the driver will return your car directly to the terminal again.
These Gatwick airport parking services come at a price which is higher than the standard services, but if you have a good deal of luggage, or are in a hurry, have young children or find the whole experience of airports quite stressful, then they are certainly worth every penny. More on this service later.
It is worth being aware that a growing number of car parks at Gatwick are charging for a minimum of three days’ parking. If you are only going away for a day or two you may find it cheaper to use the long stay car park which is closest to the terminal itself.
The long term car park facilities are best booked in advance in order to make significant cost savings. During the summer months the airport is, quite naturally, very much busier than during the winter, and using the long term car park or a Meet and Greet or Valet service is beneficial.
The short stay car park prices, for both Gatwick North and South Terminals, vary from 1 for the first 15 minutes to 8.80 for 3-4 hours. Between 18-24 hours expect to pay 17.90, with a charge of 21 for every additional 24 hours.
There is also an option known as the fast track parking facility which is useful if you are in a hurry. This is a more expensive option, but highly valuable if you are late or simply need to reach the terminal quickly. Expect to pay 14.60 for a stay of up to 3 hours, and 22.40 for a stay of up to 12 hours. Each 24 hour period after the first day is charged at 27.80.
Clearly these prices reflect the need to consider pre-booking your parking, and this can easily be done online. If you’re spending time looking at online booking facilities for car parking at Gatwick Airport, you might be interested to review the Meet and Greet services, sometimes referred to as either Valet Parking or Chauffeured Parking. Imagine arriving directly outside the terminal, and being met by a driver who will help you with your luggage, then drive your car to a secure compound. If you are parking near Gatwick, you generally don’t have to pre-book.
After your trip, your driver will meet you, with your car, directly outside the terminal again, and will assist you with any luggage. If you travel very frequently, are in a hurry, have children, elderly passengers of anyone with any form of disability, having a lot of luggage or simply want to be pampered right from the start, this is certainly one of the finest Gatwick Airport parking services offered. Searching for your car amongst seemingly endless car parks at the end of a holiday is not much fun, and at less than 80 for a week, it’s well worth considering.

Manchester Airport Parking How It All Began With Males Garage

No Comments 01 August 2010

Males Garage was the first Manchester Airport Parking Company at Manchester Airport but what follows is the story of how Manchester Airport Parking was born and how it has evolved over the years. From the cinder area of yester year to the huge industry it is today.
1953 and 1954 were massive years for Manchester Airport as they started to operate cutting edge aircraft such as the Convair liners and flying out to more European destinations. Long haul aircraft such as the DC-6 started to turn up in ever increasing numbers as air traffic increased at Manchester Airport.
Manchester Airports terminals by 1954 were expanding at a phenomenal rate as passenger figures reached approximately two hundred and fifty thousand. Three months after officially changing its name to Manchester Airport they reached their one-millionth passenger who incidentally travelled to the glamorous destination of the Isle of Man.
All this growth at Manchester Airport saw an increase in motor traffic and an opening for the first Manchester Airport car park. One young person was about to fill this gap. Jack Males the owner of Males Garage, an ex serviceman who had recently returned home to Wythenshawe opened up a small tractor repair company a short distance away from Manchester Airport not knowing the opportunity that was about to come his way.
As well as the rapid growth of Manchester Airport Males Tractor Services also expanded and branched out into plant hire and construction work. During this expansion of both businesses people would travel from Manchester Airport and at the time the car parking at Manchester Airport consisted of nothing more than a small cinder area close to the terminal with the capacity for only fifty cars. Upon their return travellers would have problems starting their vehicles so naturally went looking for help at the nearest place possible. Luckily for Jack Males and Males Garage they were the closest, so benefited from this extra trade by starting vehicles and providing small repairs.
This simple act of help would revolutionise the Manchester Airport Parking industry, as we know it today. Males Garage car storage was born, offering a secure alternative to the standard cinder path that was previously used, as well as still offering the convenience of being close to the airport. Over the years Males Garage went from strength to strength and for fifty-three years have been at the top of the parking food chain offering excellent customer service resulting in many customers returning year after year.
It was inevitable that during those fifty three years Males Garage could not possibly continue to be the only off airport Manchester Airport Parking provider and other companies started to spring up to keep up with the growth of Manchester Airport and its ever increasing passenger list. Despite this ever increasing growth in off airport parking companies Males Garage continued to operate and saw so many smaller companies come and go.
In 2007 a minimum of twenty two million people passed through Manchester Airport with still more to come. Manchester Airport decided they wanted the land where Males Garage stood and after fifty-three years of trading made Jack Males of Males garage an offer he could not refuse. I am sure all of the other Manchester Airport Parking companies in the area who have grown businesses as a result of Jacks insight all them years ago would like to say a huge thank you to Jack for the birth of Manchester Airport Parking as we know it today.

Hooters Parking commenced trading in July 2006, and has been offering superior valet meet and greet airport parking services ever since. With now literally 1000s of satisfied airport parking customers We asked if the management had ever been involved in other types of parking before Hooters? They said – No, Hooters was a brand new venture. So we asked why did you choose to provide valet meet and greet parking as your service, what motivated you? They said at Hooters we decided to provide a valet meet and greet service because I believe that we now live very busy lives and meet and greet airport parking is the future. Valet meet and greet takes the stress out of airport parking. No fuss No transfer bus! Using a valet parking service will most likely mean that you never want to use a park & ride again . I wanted to provide supply a top end airport parking service at a price affordable to all.

So we asked – Why did you decide to set up your company in the first place? They said – I had used a Meet and Greet service at Gatwick on a number of occasions. When travelling from Stansted I was unable to find a reliable valet airport parking service. With knowledge of the planned expansion of Stansted Airport there was a profitable business opportunity available. I had worked in the City for a Swiss Bank for 20 years and I decided time was right to try my hand at something new, I also knew that many customers were searching for something more than the airport park and ride service. We asked if Hooters Parking had always been a valet meet and greet airport parking service ?They said Yes Hooters really wants to be know for a great level of customer service and at the same time we dont want to be distracted from what we do well that is valet parking

We then asked Hooters about their unique selling point and why their valet parking service should chosen above any other parking operators at Stansted Airport ?They said At Hooters Airport Parking, we believe that we provide the Ultimate Valet Parking Experience. We are able to provide that extra special personal attention because we are small independent family run airport parking business,. We are always courteous, reliable and are flexible to accommodate our customers needs. We are happy to provide photographic evidence of our secure compound to reassure customers that we do not park in undesirable areas or even a field as we know some customers do. It is also important to remember that we have local authority permission.

We then asked the guys at Hooters airport parking – what are your main aims as a Meet and Greet airport parking business? They simply said – To provide a luxury airport meet and greet valet parking service that is still affordable to all.

We pressed Hooters and asked how can customers define why they should use your airport parking service ahead of any other ?Hooters said – No bus transfers enables you to save time when arriving / departing from the airport. If you are caught in heavy traffic on your way to the airport using our airport parking service could mean you will not miss your flight. Our valet parking service is especially good for families who are travelling with children. On your return your vehicle is brought to you with the heaters or air con already on, so all you have to do is drive to your destination. All in all it looks as though Hooters airport parking valet meet and greet service is a well run family business focused on customer satisfaction. We like to think that they are a valuable addition to the Stansted airport information web site, and that their valet airport parking service is certainly worth a try.

Sean McCarthy is keen traveller and web site publisher. The popularity of Stansted Airport Meet and Greet Parking is increasing all the time but the difficulty is finding relaible, secure friendly companies you know will look after your car. Hence this article.
